Ocse, conferenza stampa su meccanizzazione agricola
In occasione del Meeting annuale delle autorità designate presso l'Ocse a Parigi che si svolgerà nei giorni 23 e 24 febbraio è stata organizzato dalla presidenza del tavolo e dal segretariato Ocse la sera del 23 una conferenza stampa nella sede principale dell'Ocse nel centro di Parigi.

Monti: food crisis is bigger than the economic one
A hungry world is an insecure and unfair world, declared the Italian Prime Minister, speaking at the conference of the International Fund for agricultural development, Ifad.
“Recently the International Community invested a lot in finding solutions for the financial and economic crisis, but we must not forget that today there is a more profound and bigger crisis: the energetic and food one”, Monti said. “Food safety must be a priority for the International Community and for Italy”.

Fisherwomen of the month: Anna Jacob
I am Anna Jacob and I am 48 years old. I am from Firenze but my family has German roots. Until 2005 I was a gardener, then I decided to follow my partner’s steps and become a fisherwoman. We have a beautiful boat, it is called “Daniela 3” and it is 8, 70 meters long, with it we do fish tourism: in summer and in winter we invite seven people on board and all together we throw the nets, fish, cook what we fished and eat on board.

In Russia è nata una pianta da semi che hanno 30mila anni
La loro scoperta è stata pubblicata sulla rivista “Proceedings of the national academy of sciences”. Secondo gli scienziati il seme ha circa 30 mila anni. La pianta è la Silene stenophylla – ancora oggi diffusa nel territorio di Yakutia.

La pescatrice del mese: Anna Jacob
Sono Anna Jacob e ho 48 anni. Sono di Firenze ma la mia famiglia è originaria della Germania. Fino al 2005 facevo la giardiniera, poi ho deciso di seguire il mio compagno che fa il pescatore. Insieme abbiamo una bella barca di 8metri 70, la “Daniela 3”, con cui facciamo pesca turismo: sia l’estate sia l’inverno imbarchiamo sette persone e insieme lanciamo le reti, poi si pranza a bordo con il pescato.

EFSA to hold information session on implementing rules of independence policy
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) announced it will hold an information session on 5 March 2012 in Brussels to present the Implementing Rules of its Policy on Independence and Scientific Decision-Making Processes which was adopted by EFSA’s Management Board at its meeting on 15 December 2011. Stakeholders and interested parties can register to attend the event through the EFSA website before 24 February 2012.
